Visualize the results that you want.

Time to gain back control of your future and look at what you can do during this period of social isolation.

You now have an opportunity to partake in self-reflection. Sit in a quiet place for a moment and see yourself in a great suit walking down the street, feeling very proud of the way you look. Athletes use visualization to make themselves successful, and I want you to use it as a form of self-actualization. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What the mind of man can conceive, he can believe and achieve.” I think that it’s a safe bet to assume that anyone who invents anything, be it a product, a service, or a company, must imagine it before it can become a reality. In Toronto, an architect imagined how the first retractable roof on a stadium would work before the creation of the SkyDome, now referred to as the Rogers Centre.

Just when you think that people have created everything possible, an individual has the will and the audacity to take an idea to the next logical step. I love this: even before the twentieth century began, the U.S. patent office stated that everything that could be invented had been! Yet there have been more inventions in the last 25 years than there were in the whole prior history of mankind. Clearly if we can imagine something and become determined to make it happen, then it can become a reality.

Sir Edmund Hilary envisioned climbing Mount Everest, and made it a reality. You must understand that this is true for you as well. Believe that those who truly love you have the right and expectation for you to be at your very best health and you will see yourself fulfilling your true role as a father, son, husband, brother, or friend. The next thing that you need to do is imagine how you would like to appear and feel when you hit your ideal body weight. It may be that you’d like to feel like you were in college. Maybe you weren’t in such great shape at that time and would like to feel even better than that.

The important thing is to take the time to have a very clear visual image. If it’s vague, you won’t get there. The more clarity and intensity you visualize with, the more this future vision becomes an active part of who you are today. That is the profound power of visualization. In the past you allowed circumstances to create your state of health and the way you looked. This time, you will dictate your own circumstances and you will create the results you desire.
