Harvey has yet to find a man who cannot succeed by following the 20/20 Food plan. Paradoxically, it takes a lot of eating the right food to lose weight with Harvey's system. Men are not hungry on our program.

Avoid Diets That Do Not Include Normal

Prefab diet foods do not work on a lasting basis because they are not permanent life changes. 99% of men who go on these diets gain back all of the weight within 2 years.

Avoid Prescription Weight Loss Drugs

Weight loss drugs can make you feel full, suppress cravings, or curb your appetite. Wouldn’t you rather achieve the same results with regular grocery store food and without the negative side effects or drug dependency?

Other drugs block your body’s ability to absorb fat. The downside of this is it can cause gas with oily discharge as well as frequent or loose stools. That’s a pretty embarrassing downside.


Avoid the "All Natural" Diet

Just because a weight loss product is made with natural ingredients, it does not mean that it is safe. Unlike pharmaceuticals, natural food products do not have to undergo rigorous clinical trials and some of them have drug-like properties that can harm your health.

Avoid Miracle Cure Diets

Avoid magic chemicals that will cause your body to lose weight. Even if they produce immediate results, are you prepared to use it for the rest of your life? The problems with these diets are lengthy, but the short answer is our bodies need all three of our macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, and proteins) to stay alive and healthy. Any diet that tries to cut one out is harmful.

Weight loss resorts work fine while you’re there (if you can afford the $5000 a week they charge) but they don’t teach you good habits at home. As soon as you return to your life, your stresses, and your fridge, your weight creeps back up again. Better to do it right the first time and save your holidays for having fun.

Avoid Weight Programs Aimed At Women

Weight loss programs for women are usually run by women who have lost weight on the program, and the topics are female driven. Women are physiologically different, they lose weight differently and they have different motivators. Also, many of the women’s programs allow you to “bank” points so you can “cheat” with a favourite food. It has been our experience that this sets men back right to square one. Men need men to lead them through their weight loss experience so they can be open and honest throughout the process.

Avoid Laparoscopic Surgery

This is by far the most dangerous and insane weight loss “solution” available. It permanently alters your body so that you cannot eat more than bird sized portions of food. It comes with all of the dangerous possible side effects of surgery and excludes you from having a normal life.

Avoid the Doctor Solution

Your doctor cannot manage your eating, only the results. Doctors don’t have the time or the training to treat the causes of male obesity so they treat the symptoms with high blood pressure pills or cholesterol reducing pills. These medications mask the symptoms while your weight continues to climb and your health deteriorates.
